How To Find A Niche Market For You!

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

There are a number of things that must be in place if you want your online business to be successful. Choosing the right niche market is right up near the top of  the things you must do,

Personally speaking,”I believe that the niche is even more important than the keywords that you choose for your website.

My reasons for saying this is because keywords, is a online marketing term, whereas “THE NICHE” is both an online and off-line marketing term, so if you choose the right one, you could potentially more than double your original profit margin predictions.

When is A Niche Not A Niche?

“Let me give you a example”, Sports is not a niche, because it is far to big and broad a topic. You could break it down further into selected categories like Cricket,Base-ball,Soccer,American Football, etc and it would still be far to big and competitive for your website to stand out.

In this instance, I would break each category down further still.

Using my favourite sport “Soccer” as a example, I would first of all target my favourite team “Arsenal” and their supporters from all over the world.

I would try and find a product or service that they need and would be willing to pay for as my starting point, and once I find out what it is, I would sell it to them at a competitive price and possibly sell it to football supporters of other clubs too.

“This is just a basic plan of course, that I could easily expand on, but I think that you get the general idea”.

Passion And Profits

You have to find your passion first, before you can make any significant profits online, mine happens to be Affiliate Marketing, but there really is a endless supply of products and services that you can find to fit your niche.

It is by no coincidence that the majority of the top rated websites online are run by people who understand their business from top to bottom. They are passionate and knowledgeable people who know what works, and what doesn’t work in their own industry.

You, as somebody who is new to the online marketing world should follow their example, and avoid trying to market products that you know nothing about.

YES! I know that you are only interested in “chasing the Money” but there are a couple of reasons why you shouldn’t try working a niche that you no nothing about.

1.You will find it increasingly harder to discuss and write about a topic where you have very limited knowledge. This will   damage your credibility because, you will be perceived as a less than honest person and visitors to your website will not   buy from you.

2.Being passionate about your interests can rarely be faked. Take it from mewhen I say that it takes a awful lot of time   and effort to produce a informative and content filled site that is trusted by your visitors.

If you cannot picture   yourself writing about a particular topic for at least a year from now, then I would suggest that you bail out now.

It should be painfully obvious, that building your website around a topic that you know and love is the best way. If you do this correctly, the result will be much better conversion rates, increased sales, and a successful online business.

3 Crucial Mistakes THat You Must Not Make!

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Affiliate Marketing, isn’t it “GREAT,” You don’t need to spend money on a web site, products, or advertising. All you have to do is promote other people’s products to you’re friends, family, and others.

Then start counting the cash as it rolls into your bank account. “Easy Money right,” So how come you haven’t made a cent yet? Maybe it’s because your making one of these dangerous mistakes.

Crucial Mistake#1 Believing in the Easy Button

Generally speaking, “nobody likes hard work” myself included. How many times have you been told, that their is a easy push button solution to all of your financial problems. The sales patter usually goes something like this…

“Make Money Online working 30 minutes a day while still dressed in you’re pyjamas!”

Believing in the above headline, is like believing in the “Fairy Godmother.”

You want it to be true but, deep down in your heart you know that it is not. Take my friendly advice and, Stop looking for something that doesn’t exist.

Forget about finding that “Easy Button” and come to terms with the fact that you will never have a successful stay at home business, until you roll up you’re sleeves and build one.

Continuing to believe in the magical easy button will only hinder your progress, prevent you from investing in yourself, and ultimately will kill your dreams of owning a real online business.

“Let me tell you something” a few years ago I went back to college to study for a BTEC in business and finance,  and compared to my workload then, Affiliate Marketing seems very easy and simple to learn and do.

Crucial Mistake#2: Lack Of Self Belief

Before getting fully involved in Affiliate Marketing, I tried other business opportunities like Amway and Kleeneze. I liked both companies but they were not quite right for me at the time. You could say that I’m a bit of a “Business Junky” and a eternal optimist.

I have always, and still believe,  that working the 9 to 5 treadmill is the wrong way to go.

Yes! I know it’s nice to have a steady wage to pay off your mortgage,  and to go on you’re family holidays…

But, over the long run owning you’re own business will bring you far greater rewards.

The simple fact is…

If you have any doubts about what you are doing online, don’t believe in the products that you promote. Don’t expect anybody else to believe in you either. You cannot let “FEAR” of failure stop you from trying.

Stop blaming others for your failures, accept that you will suffer the occasional setback, and learn from you’re mistakes.

Sh*t happens always has, always will. Only true self belief in yourself will set you free and help you achieve your goals.

Crucial Mistake#3 Not Building A List

“You just knew that I was going to bring this up again, didn’t you?” It is my little bug bare, and I make no apologies for bringing this point up again, because you simply must do it.

“WHY” would you want to waste your time, money, and energy sending somebody straight to a merchant’s sales page, when you know that 98% of them won’t buy a thing.

Getting your visitors to sign up to your news-letter first is the smartest thing that you can do. You then will have multiple opportunities to convert them into “BUYERS”

With just a little help from an auto responder service you will be able to get repeat sales from the same customers which is the real secret to long term profits.

Capturing leads is important, because it gives you time to build rapport and trust with you’re subscribers. It is probably the most critical skill in Affiliate Marketing, and to continually ignore doing or learning more about how to do it, will result in disastrous consequences for you.

Affiliate Marketing Scams And You

Monday, December 21st, 2009

One of the first things that you have to overcome if you want to succeed in Affiliate Marketing, is the fear of being scammed. You have to believe that it works, and in time it will eventually free you from you’re current financial situation.

I’m not trying to scare you

but I just want to give you some idea of the determination you must possess if you want to run you’re own  profitable online business.

If you truly believe, then you have won 90% of the battle and the other 10% that you need to learn won’t worry you at all.

Just in case you were wondering, I have been scammed before.

So I do know that horrible feeling that grips you in you’re gut when you realize what has just happened. “I know that I felt like a proper MUG and I was very “ANGRY” My initial reaction was to scream to myself that

“Affiliate Marketing is a scam”

Eventually I did calm down and I just put it down to one bad experience. What’s important for you to remember is…

“At no point did I consider giving up”

In Affiliate Marketing there is always a chance of you being scammed. I’m sure you’ve heard of the now infamous Ponzi Scam or Pyramid Scam.

Millions of people all over the world have lost their life savings on these type of schemes. Unfortunately the bad publicity that followed has made people wary of anything that sounds like a Ponzi scheme and Affiliate Marketing or MLM (Multi Level Marketing) falls into this category.

When you also take into consideration the sheer amount of “GET RICH QUICK SCAMS” type of websites that there are online. You can easily see how you can become a victim.

I will let you into a little secret, I have had more than one bad experience online since I’ve been involved in Affiliate Marketing.

I have purchased products that have turned out to be useless and I have purchased products that have promised me life time upgrades and then have suddenly disappeared without any explanation given to me.

As a matter of fact just before writing this post, I was dissatisfied with a product that I had just purchased but never received, This problem has since been resolved.

The point that I am making to you is that…

Affiliate Marketing can be quite daunting (especially when you’re first starting out)

You just don’t know who’s advice to follow but, essentially the majority of people involved in it really do want you to succeed and are generally trustworthy.

Having bad experiences, being ripped off or scammed just goes with the territory I’m afraid. If you are genuinely concerned about any of these potential problems then my advice to you would be to stay well clear of Affiliate Marketing.

You can minimise the risk of a scam happening to you by doing the standard things like checking for contact details of the person who’s web site you’ve just visited, and by keeping all of your receipts from every purchase that you make online.

If you make a purchase through Paypal or Clickbank you will usually see the contact details of the person you’ve just brought from, and you are,  in most cases protected by a minimum 30 day money back guarantee.so there really is nothing for you to worry about.

Statistically the chances of you being scammed online are  probably lower than 10% out 0f 100  ”I don’t know about you but I will take those odds all day long”
