How To Use Twitter For Business

Social Networking is all the rage now. There is not a day that goes by without somebody mentioning Twitter or FaceBook on

T.V.or Radio. As far as online marketing or Affiliate marketing goes. Social Media has already been hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

A Internet marketing tool that will bring new people to any online business seeking new customers.

All I will say to you at this point is,“Don’t believe all the hype”

Sure. Social media, Social Networking, or whatever fancy name that you want to call it. Which is in vogue at the moment. Can help you to build your business.

But, to get the best results from using this platform. There are some things that you need to be aware of.

One of them being is that, just because you have signed up to Twitter, And have a lot of followers.

Does not automatically guarantee that your followers  will help you to  build your business?

I am, by no means a social Networking expert.

But I have had my Twitter account for quite a while now, And I have have to admit that I am astonished by how popular Twitter has become.

Since the world found out that President Obama uses Twitter.

It has become like a celebrity freak show circus. All of a sudden everybody and their mother wants to tweet.

I have recently started to be more active in my social Networking activities, because I wanted to see what all of the fuss has been about.

The beginning of October 2010 is when I started to take my Twitter social networking more seriously. And a pattern is already starting to emerge.

I have noticed that I am steadily getting more referred traffic from Twitter, and more importantly it is “Sticky Traffic”

Another thing that I’ve noticed is the rise in the keywords that I am getting from people using Google natural search engine to find my website.

It would be very easy for me to put these 2 significant changes down to just luck. But I know that this is not the case. Because I am tracking and testing my results on Twitter via Google Analytics.

In my opinion. My much improved stats on Twitter. Are the result of me taking more care of what I tweet and when I tweet.

If you have your own website. Then I’m sure you know the importance of self branding. I live in the UK.

So I try to send my most important tweets during the early morning and mid to late evenings in the Uk and North America.

North America plays a huge part in my marketing strategy because they have proven to be the most interested in Affiliate Marketing.

You have to know your target market, and when they are likely to be the most active. If you want to see any significant changes in your stats from twitter social networking.

Content also plays a big part in any success you may have, but I can honestly say that I’m not all that surprised by this fact

You’re own original content sets you apart from the usual crowd and noise on Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere else.

My results have improved because I have started to use more of my own content, and I will continue to do so in the future.

Participating on the various social networking sites that you may frequent is crucial. I know that I haven’t been all that great in this department.

Sorry if you are  following me on Twitter,Facebook, etc. I will try and do better.

Depending on what type of online business you have.

Following others who are using social media is a good idea.

“Remember I said follow, not stalk or spam someone.”

You want to be seen at all times as a real person, and not as a robot. Avoid sending the same sales message over and over again. It can be very annoying and you will most certainly loose a lot of followers.

So to sum this whole article up: Make sure your twitter page is natural. As I stated to you earlier, I am not a social media expert.

All of my information is based upon personal experience, common sense, and a observation on how others are using Twitter.

But I honestly believe that if you apply just some of the tips given here. You will be suprised, and happy with your results.

I use Twitter not only as a way of attracting new customers, but hooking up with like minded people and joining strong partnerships as well. It’s a literal minefield in that there is a lot of “twitter spam” to contend with. but you do meet genuinely good people and can form some great business relationships!

There are several advantage of Twitter on business like Twitter allows you to interact with potential prospects and your target audience. While you do not want to be “in their face” all of the time, Twitter does allow you to engage with these people by re-tweeting their posts or responding to something that they may have tweeted about.
