A question that I have been often asked, when I talk to people about Affiliate Marketing is “how do I get started” So I’ve decided to make that question the topic of this post.

What you will learn is the exact steps that you need to take to prepare
yourself  for making money from your own international affiliate marketing business.

To make things easier for you I have broken down my recommendations into 3 categories, which are things that you must do, things that you could do, and things that you never do.

Your Must Do’s

In no particular order, you must have a Google  account, Clickbank account,  Paypal account, and of course your own personal  bank account. Pay special attention to your Google account and make sure that you have a really strong password attached to it.

Last and certainly not least,  you must have your own domain name and hosting account, and both of these must be PAID for accounts and not FREE.

When you set up your PayPal account you are given 3 choices about what type of account you want to have.

It is very important that you choose a Premium or Business account other wise you will not be able to earn money from the paid straight into your PayPal account type of Affiliate programs that you regularly see online.

Things You Could Do

Sign up for an ebay account,  Amazon account, Paydot com account and Linkshare account.

There is a good chance that you will be turned down by ebay because they have some strange way of deciding which people are eligible for their affiliate program.

Remember that Amazon pays the lowest affiliate commissions, but DON’T  let that put you of signing up to them, because they have one of the most trusted and respected brand names online.

Paydot com is similar to Clickbank and they prefer to pay their commissions to PayPal account user’s

LinkShare deserves a extra special mention for being the “HARDEST” affiliate network that I have ever tried to sign up for.

You may have noticed that I used the word “TRY”  because at the time of writing this post, I have still not been made a member.

“If LinkShare is so hard why should you bother trying to sign up as an affiliate?” Well it depends on what type of blog or website you are thinking of starting.

For over a decade LinkShare has been the partner of choice by some of the best known brands in the world.

So if you love the idea of being associated with some of your favourite high street brands, then Linkshare might be the affiliate program for you.

Just to finish on a positive note, and depending on where you live in the world. You can actually “SPEAK” to a real live representative from Linkshare about any signing up problems you may have, and if you’ve  spent as much time online as me,  Then you will know how rare it is to be able to talk to a real person about their website.

Things You Should Never Do

I will start of with some thing that is so obviously wrong, and yet millions of people still do it everyday. Don’t “SPAM” and don’t try to claim some one else’s work as your own.

These are 2 of the things that pi** me of the most, and I know  that I’m not alone on these 2 particular points.

This is by no means a definitive list of the do’s and don’ts to making millions of $$$ online, but it will point you in  that direction.

By simply doing some of things that’s mentioned here, you will have made sure that your online business is built on a solid foundation.

I’m not going to promise you that following my advice will definitely make you money online, because I don’t  know you or what you’re current circumstances are.

“By the way” that is also something that you should never do, don’t promise anybody that they will “make money online from Affiliate Marketing”.

You must have drive ,ambition and the will to succeed to make a full time living online, but you don’t need me to tell you that, DO YOU?
