Read This Only If You Buy Products Online

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Have you ever heard of a product called “Affiliate Profit Guard” or how about “Keyword Elite?”  Let me just state for the  record that their is nothing wrong with either product.

But,I have had problems with them and a few other products, that I’ve purchased online in the past.

You see, I have a number of email addresses, and I often forget, which email address is the right login for whatever product that I have just brought.

This is not usually a major problem because I have Robo Form installed on my computer, to save all of my important password details.

However, there is one thing that you or I have very little defence from.

It happens when the original product owner decides to sell their company to someone else.

Now just imagine.

That this happens 2 or 3 years after you purchased the product.

If your lucky, you might just get a email from the original company owner.

Announcing that he or she is about to hand over ownership of their flagship product to John Smith or Jane Smith.

Providing that you have.

1)Signed up to their newsletter

2)Made sure that they have your real email address

3)Kept your email address for a number of years

You should be alright but…

…If you are anything like me, then one of the above points has, or will catch you out. Especially if you buy a lot of  software products online.

I don’t usually sign up to the news letter of the product that I’ve just purchased.

But.

I do sign up to a lot of other Affiliate Marketers news letter owners.

Who are the ones that recommend most of the products that I buy online.

This is where my problems begin because, I have changed my (ISP) Internet Service Provider at least 4 times in the last 6 years.

So all of my passwords associated with that particular email address then become null and void.

RoboForm: Learn more...

Which means that I can’t receive any important updates regarding my purchased products.

You might think, “this is something that will never happen to me.”

And you are probably right.

If you have no intention of ever buying anything online.

Then I’m sure that you won’t be to bothered about missing out on any upgrades.

But if you plan on building your own online business.

Then you will eventually need to invest in more expensive purchases…

…and also protect those purchases as much as you can from any unforeseen circumstances.

So if you want to avoid having the same problems as me,  my advice to you is simple really.

Before buying  anything online make sure that you .

  • Have a web email address like Gmail or Yahoo for all of your online transactions.

  • Keep all of your email receipts, and put them into a special file or folder

  • Keep your business email address and the one that you use for friends and family “SEPERATE”

You will also need to be aware that any product that you buy online, can suddenly be discontinued without warning.

I have had this happen to me on a couple of occasions. and it can be very frustrating, especially when you are still trying to figure out exactly how the product works.

3 Ways To kick Start Your Online Business

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

This is a strange, but true statement, the one thing that you want the most is what you need the least. “Still not sure what I’m talking about,” Don’t worry, it will all become crystal clear as you read further down the page

You will have probably realized by now, that Affiliate Marketing or Internet Marketing does take some time to fully understand. There are so many things to learn and do before you see any real reward for your hard work.

If you are anything like me, then you are constantly on the look out for quicker ways of acquiring more knowledge, to improve your chances of making some serious money online.

I have tried most of the latest marketing tactics and tools. Spent days and weeks trying out idea after idea, giving anything and everything a chance. Some of the things that I tried worked, while others failed spectacularly. I’m sure you must have gone down a similar road and have tried…

1)The Latest List Building Thing

2)The Latest Traffic Generation Thing

3)The Latest Affiliate Marketing Thing

Spent more money online, than you are earning. Wasted valuable time doing meaningless things, and the list goes on and on, and all the time while you are doing this…

…A little voice in the back of your head keeps saying ” Is it all worth It?

Is it all just one big scam?

“It’s like I was saying to you before, about chasing the things you want instead of concentrating on the things that you need”.

This is what is you need to have,  to be a major success online.

1. FOCUS.

The first thing that you need to do is to decide what your business model will be. Are you going to be the next big thing in PPC Marketing? Create your own information products? Become a Guru in Affiliate Marketing?

Focus on the one primary method that you’re going to do to make you money.

“I know how hard it is to resist the temptation to try all of the above ideas, all at once, but you MUST”.

Don’t fall into the trap of just trying a little bit of many things, In other word’s don’t dabble. Dabbling is a sure fire way of killing your online business dream stone dead.

Remember what this stage is all about, “FOCUS” You need to come to a decision right now, on what you’re  business model will be and get that plan into action and.

Then…

2. Follow A System

Affiliate Marketing is by definition, a very broad topic. It has many different parts, so your best method of systemizing it would be to break everything down into small daily, weekly, and monthly action steps.

My way of doing this is fairly simple. I concentrate on three main techniques…

>Email Marketing

>Article Marketing

>Video Marketing

I Create a new offer. I market it to my list. I drive traffic to the offer site.

I have a system or method of finding the right offers to mail to my list.

I have a system or method of driving traffic to my website,

and that’s basically it.

So what you need to do is find one method of Affiliate Marketing that you like more than others. Whether it be PPC Marketing, Video Marketing, Creating Your own Blog, just find one method and master it.

If you adopt this approach it will uncomplicate things, and make your daily action steps far easier to manage. The last thing that you want to be is just a below average Online Marketer. You need to master just “ONE” method, systemize it and.

Then…

3. Stick To Your Plan

You’ve decided on your business model. You’ve got your System in place. Now stick to your plan. At this stage most of the hard work has already been done.

You only have to remain focused, and promise yourself that no matter what happens. You will not “GIVE UP

To Paraphrase a old marketing saying: “Don’t JOIn THE 95% Who Fail ONLINE” by not giving it your best shot, and simply quit because the going get’s a little bit tough.

YES! I know all about the latest offer of the week, that will come from someone very well respected in the online marketing industry, showing you their latest trick of making more money for less work.

“I freely will admit to you that I still do get distracted by those type of offers” But, unlike in the past. I do not lose sight of my overall game plan.

To help you overcome these type of distractions, here’s what I suggest you do. Find yourself a mentor that you respect and trust and listen to them 80% of the time.

And Finally…

Don’t quit, never give up, and remember that if you want to really do well online, Focus, Follow a system, and Stick to your game plan.

How To Find A Niche Market For You!

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

There are a number of things that must be in place if you want your online business to be successful. Choosing the right niche market  is right up near the top of  the things you must do,

Personally speaking,”I believe that the niche is even more important than the keywords that you choose for your website.

My reasons for saying this is because keywords, is a online marketing term, whereas “THE NICHE” is both an online and off-line marketing term, so if you choose the right one, you could potentially more than double your original profit margin predictions.

When is A Niche Not A Niche?

“Let me give you a example”, Sports is not a niche, because it is far to big and broad a topic. You could break it down further into selected categories like Cricket,Base-ball,Soccer,American Football, etc and it would still be far to big and competitive for your website to stand out.

In this instance, I would break each category down further still.

Using my favourite sport “Soccer” as a example, I would first of all target my favourite team “Arsenal” and their supporters from all over the world.

I would try and find a product or service that they need and would be willing to pay for as my starting point, and once I find out what it is, I would sell it to them at a competitive price and possibly sell it to football supporters of other clubs too.

“This is just a basic plan of course, that I could easily expand on, but I think that you get the general idea”.

Passion And Profits

You have to find your passion first, before you can make any significant profits online, mine happens to be Affiliate Marketing, but there really is a endless supply of products and services that you can find to fit your niche.

It is by no coincidence that the majority of the top rated websites online are run by people who understand their business from top to bottom. They are passionate and knowledgeable people who know what works, and what doesn’t work in their own industry.

You, as somebody who is new to the online marketing world should follow their example, and avoid trying to market products that you know nothing about.

YES! I know that you are only interested in “chasing the Money”  but there are a couple of reasons why you shouldn’t try working a niche that you no nothing about.

1.You will find it increasingly harder to discuss and write about a topic where you have very limited knowledge. This will   damage your credibility because, you will be perceived as a less than honest person and visitors to your website will not   buy from you.

2.Being passionate about your interests can rarely be faked. Take it from mewhen I say that it takes a awful lot of time   and effort to produce a informative and content filled site that is trusted by your visitors.

If you cannot picture   yourself writing about a particular topic for at least a year from now, then I would suggest that you bail out now.

It should be painfully obvious, that building your website around a topic that you know and love is the best way. If you do this correctly, the result will be much better conversion rates, increased sales, and a successful online business.
