How To Get Targeted Traffic From Linkedin

Whenever you hear people talk about social media.

Usually 3 names get  mentioned far more than the rest,

Twitter,Facebook and YouTube.

Hardly a day goes by without someone on TV or Radio, telling you.

Why you must  follow them on Twitter. Like them on FaceBook,

or watch a video of theirs on YouTube .

But the one social media website. That never gets a mention is Linkedin.

Which in terms of  getting targeted traffic and leads. Has the potential to beat all of them hands down. In this article you will learn the 5 most important steps you must take.

To get more targeted traffic from Linkedin. So let’s begin with.

1) Your Profile Page

I cannot stress enough. How important it is that you do this, especially when it comes to using social media.Your profile page is how you get the right people to notice you.

Remember that the large majority of people. That use Linkedin are business professionals. And they are not there just to make friends.

Out of the many profile pages that I have filled out online, on various websites across the net. Linkedin is the one that stands out as being the most anal.

To give you some idea of what I mean.

At the time of you reading this. I have only filled out 25% of my profile page. Which is usually more than enough, for most of the other websites, that I visit.

I probably will at some point in the future have to complete my full Linkedin profile. But for now. I am happy with it as it is.

2) Don’t Spam

I won’t lie to you, at this moment in time. There is still far too much spam in some of the Linkedin groups. But in my opinion there are 2 key reasons for this.

  • Poor Group Moderators
  • Easy Blog Posting Options.

The moderators are the ones who are suppose to set the rules for all of the members of their group. They can make a group private or public, with whatever conditions to joining. They choose to put in place.

And that’s the problem you see.

Too many of the groups do not have any restrictions to joining at all.

So what you end up with, is one mad free for all.  Where all of the members, can if they so wish.  Post their spam messages to as many groups as they like.

 3) Answer Questions

One great method that you can use. To separate yourself from the millions of other  Linkedin users.

Is to take part in the questions and answers discussions.

Doing this will help you to quickly  raise your credibility and trust. And the more you take part in these question and answer sessions, the more links you get back to your profile page.

Which will in time ( providing that you have done everything correctly) result in more traffic to your blog.

4) Join Groups

Joining groups is an absolute must if you want to seen as an expert on Linkedin. Yes I know that I said to you that some of the groups get a lot of spam.

But despite this.

You will still need to join as many groups, that are targeted to your niche as possible. And if you can’t find one, then start a group of your own. You are allowed (I think) to join a maximum of 50 groups.

You can of course, leave any group that you’re not happy with anytime that you want .

So if you join 5 groups out of your maximum total of 50. And then for whatever reason you decide to leave all of them.

You will still have 50 groups left that you can join.

Side Note-One of the best groups for newbie bloggers. That I  have come across, and I suggest that you join  is.

The Bloggers Helping Bloggers  Group.

5) Get Connections

This is one feature of Linkedin that I will admit to you. Until recently I had struggled with.

Don’t get me wrong.

I always  knew the importance of connecting with the other Linkedin members. But I was always too afraid to get involved, because of  fear of rejection and looking like a total prat.

So how did I overcome this problem?

Well…It was all down to a video on YouTube, that I was watching one day from a person who’s name escapes me at this moment.

But he did recommend that I check out Top Linked. Which I did, and the results so far have been nothing short of  staggering to say the least.

I have gone from having less than 10 connections to 333 and counting in less than a month.

And the best thing about all of  this is…That I don’t have to make a single connection request myself. And for less than $10 a month you won’t hear me complaining.

How about You?
