YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world.
It is owned by Google who have the distinction of holding the number one position.
To the average person.
YouTube is a site that just hosts videos.
So it is very easy for us to forget that actually.
There are ten’s of thousands of people.
That use YouTube everyday.
As a search engine to find what they want and need.
In this article.
I’m going to show you how you can use Video Marketing, to dominate both of these mighty search engine power houses. For virtually any long tail keyword phrase of your choice.
You might be asking yourself.
Why Bother With Video Marketing?
As I stated earlier in this post. “There are thousands of people that use the YouTube search engine everyday.”
And I am willing to bet.
That a large majority of them, are visual learners like myself.
Given a choice of learning something by the written word or video. It’s a no brainer for me, video wins every time.
I have purchased a video course for virtually everything connected to Internet Marketing. That is my prefered method of absorbing information.
I am what you would call a video marketers ideal customer, and there are millions of others just like me.
And with new hand held devices like the IPad and Google Nexus becoming more popular by the day. There has never been a better time for you to get involved in video marketing.
What Type Of Video Works Best?
You have probably seen enough videos on TV and on YouTube. To know that the videos where something unexpected happens are usually the ones that goes viral.
But since it is very hard to fake an unpredictable moment.
My suggestion to you is to follow these video guidelines before recording your first video.
1) Do your keyword research
2) Make sure you put your main keywords in the title.
3) Make a short video series of your chosen topic.
4) Length of each video no longer than 10 minutes
5) Title of each video in series must always remain the same.
Please don’t panic at this stage. Because the keyword research that I’m talking about is very basic, and it will take no more than 15 minutes of your time.
What you will be looking for, is a keyword phrase of 3 to 4 words maximum. That gets around 3000 to 5000 searches a month.
Use this Free Keyword Tool to get the information.
I always put the main keyword phrase in the title of all of my videos, and I would advise you to do the same.
I also recommend that you do a series of videos around one topic, rather than a large number of random videos.
This strategy is the one that I personally use and it has served me well.
Remember that most of the people, who use the Internet are pressed for time. So I would strongly recommend that you keep all of your videos to no more than 10 minutes in length.
And for maximum search engine domination keep the title of each video in your series the same.
How Long Before You See Results?
One of the main reasons why I prefer video marketing over article marketing is because of the greater viral potential.
The average person,(in my opinion) is far more likely to share a video with their friends rather than an article.
Now I don’t want to give you the impression.
That all you have to do is make a couple of videos, upload them to YouTube. And you instantly get thousands of video views and shares.
Because quite frankly, the chances of that happening are very slim.
You will find that some of your videos will be more popular than others. There is no exact formula that I know of, that will instantly make a video go viral.
For this to happen you will need a number of things to work in your favor.
Luck plays a big part so does the topic of your video, having a great title and the right keywords will also help.
But in the end it all boils down to simple trial and error.
Most of my videos were made by Jing, They are by my own admission, far from being Oscar nomination standard.
Some people will like and some will dislike my videos.
But I am still willing to put my neck on the chopping block. Because I can see the long term benefits of video marketing.
Video is or will be in the future, the dominant force in Internet Marketing. So my final bit of advice to you is to make it a part of your business strategy today.
